Some long-time residents of Beacon Hill, the North End and the South End associate the appearance of the city’s yellow street sweepers with an unofficial start of spring. They will have to wait this year until May 16 instead of the traditional May 1 as the city continues to clear snow. For the rest of us, the start day is April 1. Then again, how many of us remember the April Fool’s blizzard of 1995?
