Last year, the Esplanade broke into USA Today’s annual ranking of America’s top riverwalks, coming in at number eight.

As of press time, the 64-acre park ranked eleventh.

Voting in the USA Today poll is “a great opportunity for us to show each other how proud we are about our landscape,” said Lauren Vitacco, who works as a design and marketing coordinator for the Esplanade Association. The Esplanade is the only riverside park in Massachusetts in the running. “We provide a lot of greenspace and free activities year-round.”

Voters can click through the website (https://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-riverwalk-2023/charles-river-esplanade-boston) to add a vote. You can cast a new vote every day until polls close, at noon on Wednesday, April 17.

• No. 6: San Antonio Riverwalk, in San Antonio.

• No. 7: Wilmington Riverwalk, in Wilmington, N.C.

• No. 8: Charles River Esplanade

• No. 9: Milwaukee RiverWalk, in Milwaukee.

• No. 10: Canal Walk, in Indianapolis.
