A boom and net system is being used again this year remove trash from the Muddy River, one of the state’s most polluted waterways.

It’s called the goat and, like its real-life namesake, will feast on just about everything. This year, the system will remove microplastics which contribute to algae.

The launch will be on Sunday from 11am-12:30pm on the Ipswich Bridge across from 50 Charelesgate East.

And yes, real goats will be in attendance along with live music and free ice cream.
