In Boston, some people are known just by their first names. There’s Theo in baseball. Tom who used to be with the Patriots. Marty at City Hall. In the South End and Bay Village, there is only one Faisa.
Faisa Sharif has been the mayor’s liaison to those neighborhoods since July, 2017. She has been involved with providing city services, representing the mayor, and just listening to neighborhood concerns and opinions.
Beginning Monday, Faisa will become the deputy director of the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services overseeing all of the city’s neighborhood liaisons. (See page six for her successor).
